MONEY POWER
Our Money Power program, designed to help you build and manage your money. We partner with local credit counselors who can guide you, such as Alternatives Federal Credit Union, Empower Federal Credit Union, and Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services.
Participating in a credit counseling session with a local financial company or counselor is a key part of the program. We'll provide you with a list of free credit counseling options. The session must be completed, and it can happen as quickly as two days after signing up.
You can choose any credit counseling service, including those offered by credit unions, banks, or nonprofit counselors. Just make sure they can access your credit report without affecting your credit score.
The session can be tailored to your needs, whether you want advice on improving your credit score or help with budgeting.
LIFE GOALS
Our Life Goals program is designed to assist you in setting and achieving your own goals. You'll receive up to three free sessions with a local Life Coach. This program also includes a standard Safety Review for items specific to your current home.
Here's what you need to do for the Life Goals program:
1-Undergo a no-cost Safety Review using our standard form, excluding items related to home ownership. The reviewer will kindly point out any changes you can make to create a safer living environment if you were already a resident.
2-Host a personal no-cost half-hour session with our Life Coach. They will help you identify your purpose, motivations, and strengths. Together, you'll set your goals and create a short-term action plan. If you need guidance on any Safety Review items, the Life Coach can provide tips and a free tool kit.
3-Clear any open Safety Review items. You can confirm that they have been fixed by sending us "before" and "after" pictures via text. You can also discuss the resolution of these items during your second or third Life Coach session.
4-Benefit from two follow-up no-cost half-hour sessions with our Life Coach to help you stay on track with your goals. If all Safety Review items are resolved, you can choose to schedule these sessions during the first month after you move.
